Current Issue Of Performance BMW Magazine

POWER OF ATTORNEYOh no, they’ve only gone and done it. They’ve only gone and brought in a new editor for your favourite monthly BMW magazine. Who is he? What does he know about performance BMWs and what does this mean for the mag? Well, hi my name’s Andy Jonathan Basoo, I’m pushing 30, I’m not as pretty as the outgoing editor and I’m from south-east London.

I’ve been a motoring journalist here at Unity Media Plc for almost a decade, having previously worked on Banzai and Retro Cars magazines. What that essentially means is that I get modified car culture, and just about every car I’ve ever owned has been tuned in some way, from basic chassis upgrades to full-on engine conversions. So, you can expect plenty of interesting new BMW projects to find their way into the regular Our Cars pages in the months ahead. In the mean time, I’ve taken over Louise’s mapped E87 118d ES company car as a daily driver and plans are afoot to give it the makeover it deserves. That having been said, I’ve already got my eyes on a new addition to the PBMW fleet, so watch this space.

During my time here at Unity, I’ve never sat more than five meters from the PBMW team, so I understand what this magazine is all about. I’ve also had the privilege of knowing the title’s previous two Editors very well indeed. Both Iain Curry and Louise Woodhams really did put their hearts and souls into making PBMW the magazine it is today, and my plan is to help it grow and progress yet further. I watched Louise cry tears of joy and frustration over this mag, such was her passion for BMWs and you, the magazine’s readers. You’ve been in good hands, but let me assure you that you still are.

Personally, I don’t intend to change things drastically. Each month, you’ll still be treated to the very best performance BMWs from all continents, as staff writer Ben and I scour the globe for the finest feature cars out there. What you may well see though is a slightly greater focus on the UK’s tuning scene, as well as some good old-fashioned product testing. As always though, we want you to enjoy reading PBMW as much as humanly possible, so any feedback and suggestions you have, both good and bad, we’d love to hear from you. With a new (albeit slightly uglier) editor at the helm, this is the perfect time for you to have your say, so contact us via pbmw@unity-media.com
